Ashanti NDC Backs Osei Richmond for Regional Organizer

Support is steadily building within the Ashanti Regional branch of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Osei Richmond, as delegates and grassroots rally behind his bid for the position of Regional Organizer ahead of the party’s internal elections.
Though nominations are yet to be officially opened, party faithful across the region are already tipping the youthful activist as a strong contender, citing his long-standing dedication to grassroots mobilization, accessibility, humility, and loyalty to the party.
Mr. Osei Richmond, a native of the Manso Adubia Constituency, is being described by supporters as a “selfless and dependable organizer” who has remained close to the grassroots through difficult and triumphant times alike.
According to a section of delegates, the future of the NDC depends heavily on energetic and committed young leaders capable of reconnecting the party with the base ahead of the 2028 general elections.
They argue that Mr. Osei’s proven mobilization skills, strong human relations, and unwavering commitment to youth empowerment make him the ideal candidate for the role.

Checks by THE ARCHIVES indicate that at least six aspirants have so far shown interest in contesting the Regional Organizer position.
They include: Haj Wasty Saeed Umar (Shaba) – former Suame Constituency Chairman, Emmanuel Fynn – Ashanti Regional Deputy Youth Organizer, Naziru Hamza (Chairman Thighs) – Regional Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Ivan Bilson – Deputy Ashanti Regional Liaison Officer, Patrick Opoku – Kwabre East Constituency Organizer and Regional NAP Coordinator and Justice Alfa – former Parliamentary Candidate for Kwadaso.
Despite the competitive field, many delegates believe Mr. Osei Richmond stands out because of his deep connection with the grassroots and his consistent efforts toward youth welfare and capacity building within the party.
Although Mr. Osei Richmond has not formally declared his candidacy, persons close to his camp say his consultations across the region have been met with overwhelming encouragement from party elders, constituency executives, youth groups, and grassroots activists.
His handlers say he believes leadership is “the capacity and the will to rally men and women to a common purpose, and the character which inspires confidence.”
They further noted that his message to party members has consistently centered on unity, teamwork, and rebuilding the NDC into “an attractive and better place for all.”
For now, Mr. Osei Richmond is said to be engaging stakeholders quietly through consultations rather than open campaigning.
However, the growing endorsement from delegates across the Region suggests that his potential bid is already gaining significant momentum ahead of the party’s upcoming internal elections.
