Buem NPP Congratulates Ing. Wisdom Gomashie on Appointment

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Buem Constituency has congratulated Ing. Wisdom Gomashie following his appointment as Co-Chair of the party’s Environment and Natural Resources Committee.

In a statement issued by the Buem Constituency Chairman, Arnold K. Agbley, the constituency leadership described the appointment as a recognition of Ing. Gomashie’s competence, dedication, leadership qualities, and commitment to national development.

“We in Buem and the Oti Region are extremely proud of this recognition and believe that Ing. Wisdom Gomashie will bring great experience, innovation, and excellence to this important responsibility,” the statement noted.

The constituency executives also expressed appreciation to the NPP’s 2028 presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, for what they described as the confidence reposed in “their own son.”

According to the statement, the appointment has brought “joy, excitement, and renewed energy” to party supporters in the constituency.

The Buem NPP further pledged its unwavering support for Dr. Bawumia and the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.

“The good people of Buem are ready to work tirelessly to ensure a resounding victory for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP,” the statement added.

Ing. Gomashie’s appointment was announced last week as part of a broader restructuring of the NPP’s standing and sector committees aimed at strengthening policy formulation and drawing on technical expertise ahead of the 2028 elections.

The reconstitution of the committees forms part of efforts by Dr. Bawumia to bring together former presidential primary contenders and experienced technocrats to shape the party’s future policy direction.

A former executive of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) and a native of Jasikan in the Oti Region, Ing. Gomashie is regarded as one of Ghana’s emerging voices in mining policy and natural resource governance.

The Environment and Natural Resources Committee is expected to play a key role in developing policy proposals on mining, land administration, environmental protection, forestry, climate resilience, and sustainable natural resource management.

An engineer and alumnus of the University of Mines and Technology, Ing. Gomashie is expected to bring his technical expertise and industry experience to the committee at a time when illegal mining, environmental degradation, and natural resource management remain major national concerns.

Political observers believe the inclusion of professionals with strong technical backgrounds reflects the NPP’s efforts to reposition itself as a policy-driven party focused on practical solutions to Ghana’s development challenges.

The committee is also expected to engage stakeholders in the mining, environmental, and land management sectors to address growing concerns over galamsey, deforestation, water pollution, and the sustainable exploitation of natural resources.

Party insiders say the appointments signal renewed efforts to consolidate unity within the NPP while leveraging expertise from various sectors to prepare the party’s policy blueprint for future elections.
