Asantehene Honours Angela List With Prestigious Gold Medal

His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has honoured mining entrepreneur and Second Vice President of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, Ms Angela List, with the prestigious Otumfuo Commemorative Gold Medal in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the mining sector.

Ms List, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nguvu Mining Limited—a group of mining companies operating across West Africa, including Adamus Resources Limited, Northern Ashanti Mining Company Limited, Segala Mining Corporation, Samira Hill Gold Mine and Poura Resources Limited—was among several distinguished personalities honoured at the World Meets in Ghana Executive Dinner Ball held at the Manhyia Palace.

The event, held on Sunday, April 24, was under the theme “Advancing Peace and Sustainable Economic Development through Royal Vision” and attracted high-profile guests in recognition of their contributions to Ghana’s growth and development.

The ceremony formed part of activities marking Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’s recognition as a Pillar of Peace during his 27th coronation anniversary.

Other honourees included President John Dramani Mahama, former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and Chief Executive Officer of KGL Group, Mr Alex Apau Dadey, among others.

The event was organised by E ON 3 Group in collaboration with the Manhyia Palace, the Diaspora Affairs Office of the Office of the President, KGL Group and its subsidiaries and Universal Merchant Bank.

Others include, National Petroleum Authority (NPA), MultiBank Group (Dubai), Emirates Gold (Dubai), GOIL PLC, the African Gold Market Association, Gold Coast Refinery, and the National Lottery Authority.

According to the organisers, the awards sought to recognise the global impact of Otumfuo’s leadership while celebrating individuals whose work has significantly contributed to society.

This is not the first time Ms List has been recognised for her achievements in the extractive sector and job creation.

In 2025, she received the Global Power Female Award, which celebrates accomplished businesswomen worldwide.

The award was presented at a ceremony in New York, United States, on September 25, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

Earlier, in 2024, Ms List was named Female CEO of the Year in Mining (2023/2024) at the 8th Ghana CEO Summit and Excellence Awards held in Accra on May 27, 2024.
