DVLA Revenue Soars 67% in First Quarter

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has recorded a significant increase in revenue for the first quarter of 2026, following expanded operations and ongoing reforms introduced since 2025.

The Authority attributed the improved performance to enhanced service delivery, digitisation of its processes, and strengthened compliance systems across its regional and district offices nationwide.

According to DVLA officials, these interventions have streamlined operations, reduced administrative bottlenecks, and improved turnaround time for licensing and registration services.

A standout achievement in the upward trend was recorded between January and March 2026, during which the Authority posted a 67% increase in revenue compared to the same period in 2025.

The DVLA described the development as evidence that its reform agenda is yielding measurable results, particularly in improving efficiency and widening the revenue base through improved compliance and service accessibility.

In a statement, the Authority said, “The significant increase in revenue reflects the impact of our reforms, digital transformation initiatives, and enhanced customer compliance systems.”

It further noted that ongoing digitisation efforts, including improved online service platforms and automation of key processes, have contributed significantly to revenue growth by making services more accessible to the public.

The Authority also reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining the momentum through continuous innovation, stricter enforcement of road and vehicle regulations, and improved customer service delivery.

“We remain focused on building a modern, efficient, and transparent licensing system that meets the needs of the public while strengthening revenue performance for national development,” the statement added.

DVLA officials say the Authority will continue to expand its digital infrastructure and compliance monitoring systems in the coming months as part of broader efforts to modernise Ghana’s vehicle licensing regime.
