DVLA Commissions New Yendi Office

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has commissioned its new office in Yendi in the Northern Region as part of efforts to decentralise its operations and bring driver and vehicle licensing services closer to residents.
The facility was officially commissioned on Monday, August 31, at a colourful ceremony attended by stakeholders in the transport sector, traditional leaders, community representatives and other invited guests.
The commissioning forms part of an ongoing decentralisation programme being implemented by the management of the DVLA to expand access to its services and improve efficiency in the delivery of services across the country.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in charge of Operations, Mr Iddisah Yeboah Seidu, commissioned the facility on behalf of the CEO, Mr Julius Neequaye Kotey.

The new Yendi office is expected to significantly improve access to DVLA services for residents of Yendi and surrounding communities, while reducing the need for customers to travel long distances to access basic licensing and vehicle-related services.
The Authority said the decentralisation initiative was aimed at making its services faster, more reliable and easily accessible to members of the public, particularly those in communities located far from existing regional and district offices.
The new office, is also expected to enhance customer convenience and reduce the time and cost associated with travelling to distant locations to transact business with the Authority.
The Yendi facility is one of five new offices scheduled to be commissioned across the northern sector as part of the Authority’s expansion programme.
Apart from Yendi, new DVLA offices are scheduled to be commissioned in Salaga, Navrongo, Nalerigu and Tumu.
The Authority will also hold a sod-cutting ceremony in Bole to mark the commencement of construction of another DVLA office.

The expansion programme forms part of management’s broader efforts to strengthen the DVLA’s presence at the local level and ensure that residents across the country have easier access to essential driver and vehicle licensing services.
The move is also expected to help decongest existing DVLA offices by distributing service delivery points across more communities, while improving the overall customer experience.
Management of the Authority has in recent months intensified its drive to modernise and decentralise its operations, with new facilities and service initiatives being introduced to improve efficiency, accessibility and accountability in the delivery of DVLA services.
