Medical Trust Fund Strengthens Partnerships Ahead of Rollout

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has intensified efforts to build strategic partnerships across the country as it prepares for its official rollout, engaging key stakeholders within the health sector to ensure a smooth and impactful implementation.

As part of this process, the Fund has been holding a series of engagements with Regional Directors of Health nationwide to deepen their understanding of its mandate and highlight the crucial role they will play in delivering its objectives.

At a high-level meeting held at the headquarters of the Ghana Health Service, the Director-General, Prof. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, commended the Fund for its proactive and impactful initiatives aimed at improving access to healthcare for Ghanaians.

He reaffirmed his commitment to fostering strong collaboration between the Ghana Health Service and the Fund, stressing the importance of synergy in achieving nationwide health outcomes.

Prof. Akoriyea also expressed optimism about ongoing infrastructure developments, particularly the construction of modern cardiology centres in Kumasi, Tamale, and Accra.

The projects are expected to significantly transform the delivery of specialized healthcare services across the country.

The Administrator of the Fund, Adjoa Obuobia Opoku-Darko, expressed appreciation for the continued support from the Director-General and his team.

She emphasized the need for even closer collaboration to ensure the effective delivery of healthcare support to Ghanaians living with conditions covered under the Fund.

She noted that strong institutional partnerships will be key to ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left behind when the Fund becomes fully operational.

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund’s ongoing stakeholder engagements signal a coordinated national effort to expand access to quality healthcare and strengthen the country’s health system.

Together, the institutions say, they are working towards building a stronger and healthier Ghana, with a firm commitment to inclusivity and equitable healthcare delivery for all.
