GES Sacks KNUST SHS Assistant Headmaster for Fondling Student

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has removed the Assistant Headmaster of KNUST Senior High School, Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo, following the emergence of a viral video allegedly showing him in a compromising situation with a female student.
Mr. Aidoo, who is believed to be nearing retirement, has also been barred from entering the school premises while further investigations are underway.
In a statement released on Monday, the GES described the incident as a serious breach of professional conduct and confirmed that Mr. Aidoo has been relieved of his duties with immediate effect.
“The GES views this matter with utmost seriousness and has taken swift action in line with our commitment to safeguarding the welfare of students,” the statement, signed by GES Head of Public Relations Daniel Fenyi, said.

The Service assured parents, stakeholders, and the general public that due process will be followed, and any additional disciplinary actions will be taken in accordance with the GES Code of Conduct.
“The GES remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all our schools,” the statement continued. “We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and well-being of students.”
The viral video, which has sparked widespread public outrage on social media, allegedly captures Mr. Aidoo engaging in inappropriate behavior with a female student.
The GES reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on misconduct, particularly acts that undermine student welfare and the integrity of the education system.
