GAF Critical Care & Emergency Hospital Increases Dialysis Fee to GH¢700

The Ghana Armed Forces Critical Care and Emergency Hospital (GAFCCEH) at Burma Camp has increased the cost of dialysis treatment from GH¢550 to GH¢700.
The facility, a unit of the 37 Military Hospital, announced that the new charges took effect on February 2, 2026.
In a notice sighted by The Archives, the hospital stated: “GAFCCEH dialysis charges have been reviewed to seven hundred Ghana cedis (GH¢700) with effect from 02 Feb 26.”
The notice was signed by the Commanding Officer, IB Koranteng.
The increment has sparked concern among patients and their families, many of whom have described the move as burdensome amid prevailing economic reforms.
Some have questioned the basis for the increase and whether the necessary stakeholder consultations were undertaken before the decision was made.
A relative of a patient, reacting to the development in a message also sighted by The Archives, questioned whether the adjustment aligns with the government’s broader policy direction.
“Dear Health Minister, the GAF Critical Care and Emergency Centre (a unit of 37 Military Hospital) has just raised its dialysis fee from GH¢550 to GH¢700. Is this part of the government’s resetting agenda?” the message read.
Hospital authorities are yet to publicly respond to the concerns raised over the fee adjustment.
