Bole-Bamboi MP Breaks Ground for Major Projects at Bole SHS

The Member of Parliament for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency, Yussif Sulemana, has cut the sod for the construction of six major infrastructure projects at Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region.
The ceremony marks a significant step toward addressing long-standing infrastructure challenges facing the school.
The projects include the construction of a 16-bed teachers’ bungalow with ancillary facilities and new dormitories for students.
The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources also handed over sites for the construction of a state-of-the-art assembly hall, as well as ultra-modern ICT and science laboratories.
Funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), the projects are expected to expand infrastructure at the school and reduce pressure on existing facilities.
Speaking to the media during the ceremony, Mr. Sulemana said the initiative forms part of broader efforts to upgrade Bole Senior High School to Category A status.

According to him, the school had for years suffered neglect, particularly in terms of infrastructure.
“The Bole Senior High School has been abandoned for a very long time. If you had seen where students eat, in terms of the dining facility, it was an eyesore. Many calls were made but there was no response. Today, we believe the time has come for us to provide these facilities,” the MP was quoted in a report by Myjoyonline.com as saying.
The MP also urged the contractor to ensure quality work and avoid delays, assuring that payments would be made promptly upon completion.
“I am here to encourage the contractor and to make it clear that we mean business and will not accept any shoddy work. The contractor must ensure the work meets the required standards so that when we request additional projects, they will also be considered,” he added.
Project Manager of Blessings Company Ltd, the contractor undertaking the projects, assured stakeholders of quality work and timely completion.
He disclosed that three of the projects currently awarded include the girls’ and boys’ dormitories, which are one-storey structures, as well as the teachers’ bungalow.
“I am not the type of contractor who abandons sites. I assure you that the work will be completed for the benefit of the school,” he said.
Headteacher of the school, Abubakari Mahama Salia, commended the MP and the government for the intervention, describing the development as a major boost for the institution.
“We are greatly overwhelmed by what the Honourable MP is doing. A short while ago, he led GETFund officials to the school and informed us that several projects would be undertaken.
At the time, the staff and I were sceptical because we thought it might not happen. But what we are seeing today opens the floodgates for many exciting possibilities,” he said.
The projects are expected to be completed within 18 months.
