Apostle Sarfo Kantaka’s Family Declares Son Persona Non Grata; Cautions Public Against Dealings With Him

The family of the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, founder and leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission and the Kantanka Group of Companies, has issued a strong disclaimer, warning the public against conducting any business transactions with his son, Mr. Israel Kwadwo Safo, also known as Nana Kwadwo Akofena.
In a statement, the family cautioned against engaging Mr. Safo in any matters related to the late Apostle’s businesses or the upcoming funeral arrangements.
It emphasized that no individual, including Mr. Kwadwo Safo Jnr, has been authorized to act on behalf of the family in such matters.
“The family of the late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo wishes to inform the general public that no individual, including Mr. Kwadwo Safo Jnr, has been authorized to act on behalf of the family in any transactions related to the businesses of the late Apostle or in connection with the organization of his funeral.
The public is advised to desist from dealing with him on such matters,” the disclaimer read.
The announcement has come as a surprise to many, especially considering Mr. Safo Jnr’s long-standing role as the public face of the Kantanka Group of Companies.
Until recently, he was widely known as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Group and was seen publicly receiving sympathizers alongside other family members following the announcement of the Apostle’s passing.
It is not immediately clear what led to the family’s decision to disassociate themselves from Mr. Safo Jnr. However, the statement leaves no room for ambiguity regarding his current standing with the family in matters of business or funeral coordination.
While Mr. Safo Jnr is a well-known entrepreneur and pilot, it has now come to light that he is no longer officially recognized as the CEO of the Kantanka Group—a revelation that has raised many questions in the public domain.
The family has assured the public that all official announcements regarding the funeral of the late Apostle will be communicated in due course. They also appealed for privacy during this period of mourning.
Apostle Kwadwo Safo passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the age of 77. His passing was confirmed by the family and the Kristo Asafo Church.
He was widely regarded as a spiritual leader, inventor, philanthropist, and industrialist, celebrated for his unwavering commitment to innovation and self-reliance through his many technological advancements, particularly with the Kantanka Automobile Company.
Describing him as “a true genius, a beacon of hope for many, and a father to the fatherless,” the family paid tribute to a man whose legacy was deeply shaped by struggle, vision, and excellence.
Born on August 26, 1948, in Bom near Kensere in the Ashanti Region, Apostle Kwadwo Safo was the son of Opanin Yaw Safo and Obaapanin Yaa Amoanimaa. He is survived by several children, including Sarah Adwoa Safo (lawyer and former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection), Joche Safo (lawyer), Monarch Safo, and others.
