The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Mr Iddisah Yeboah Seidu, has donated sports equipment to the Bole District Education Directorate in the Savannah Region.
The items, presented on Saturday, September 20, 2026, included 10 sets of football jerseys, three footballs and two volleyballs for schools in the district.
The donation, was in response to an appeal from the Directorate for support to promote sports development in basic schools.
Mr Seidu said sports played a crucial role in the physical and mental development of children and, therefore, needed to be encouraged at the basic-school level.
He noted that many schools in the district lacked basic sporting equipment, a situation he said affected effective teaching and participation in physical education.
He expressed the hope that the donation would help revive inter-schools sports competitions in the Bole District.
The latest intervention adds to Mr Seidu’s previous contributions towards sports development in the district.
A few months ago, he donated football kits, training equipment and other sporting materials to various schools and youth teams in Bole.
The latest items were received on behalf of the Directorate by the District Director of Education, Mr Richard Achinani Sepaga, and the District Head of Supervision, Mr Jamani Bakari.
Mr Sepaga, on behalf of the Directorate, expressed gratitude to Mr Seidu for the gesture, describing it as a significant boost to sporting activities in schools and communities.
He said the donation was timely, particularly as the district prepared for its upcoming inter-schools sports festival.
Mr Sepaga appealed to other individuals and organisations to emulate Mr Seidu’s example by supporting education and sports development in the district.
He assured the donor that the equipment would be fairly distributed among schools and put to good use to promote sports development in Bole.
