Youth Ministry Hosts National Youth Forum Tomorrow

The Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, in collaboration with the Ghana Youth Federation (GYF), is set to host the inaugural National Youth Forum, a major platform aimed at bringing young Ghanaians together to share ideas, express concerns and contribute meaningfully to national policy and decision-making.

The much-anticipated forum, scheduled for Wednesday, August 19, at the Kofi Ohene-Konadu Auditorium of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), is expected to provide an avenue for direct and constructive engagement between young people and stakeholders on issues relating to their lives, aspirations and future.

Held under the theme, “A Sound Youth, A Sound Nation: Your Voice. Your Future. Our Nation,” the forum is designed to place young people at the centre of conversations on national development while creating opportunities for their ideas and perspectives to translate into practical action.

Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment, George Opare-Addo, said the forum would provide young people with an opportunity to openly share their thoughts, ideas and perspectives on issues that matter to them.

According to him, beyond simply listening to the concerns of the youth, the forum will explore ways of transforming their ideas into meaningful action, tangible outcomes and lasting national impact.

“The Forum will provide a platform for young people to share their thoughts, ideas, and perspectives on issues that matter to them and, importantly, explore how those ideas can translate into meaningful action and impact,” Opare-Addo said in a Facebook post.

The initiative forms part of efforts to strengthen youth participation in governance and national development by creating a platform where young people can engage policymakers, articulate their aspirations and contribute to shaping policies and decisions that directly affect their future.

The event, will commence at 9:00 a.m. and will be moderated by accomplished broadcaster, Umaru Sanda Amadu of Citi FM and Channel One Television, who is expected to steer the discussions and facilitate meaningful exchanges among participants and speakers.

The youth are encouraged to participate actively in the forum and make their voices heard on matters relating to youth development, opportunities, innovation, employment, leadership and the broader future of Ghana.

The Ministry and the Ghana Youth Federation are optimistic that the inaugural forum will generate impactful, constructive and solution-oriented conversations, while strengthening the partnership between the youth and institutions responsible for shaping national policy.

The Archives is informed that, the Forum is being positioned not merely as another youth gathering, but as a significant platform for listening to Ghana’s young people, amplifying their voices and turning their aspirations into action.

With Ghana’s future closely tied to the creativity, energy and leadership of its youthful population, the forum is expected to set the tone for a renewed and sustained conversation on how young Ghanaians can play a greater role in building a stronger and more prosperous nation.
