Takoradi Pastor Dies in Guest House After Night Out With Church Member

A Takoradi-based pastor has been found dead in a guest house under circumstances that have drawn public attention, with police launching investigations to determine the cause of death.
The deceased, identified as Rev. Michael Kofi Appiah, founder and leader of Light of Faith Ministry, is reported to have checked into the facility late at night in the company of a woman believed to be a member of his church.
According to reports, the two arrived at the guest house around 10:00 p.m., where they reportedly ordered food and drinks before retiring to their room.
Witnesses at the facility indicated that the pair appeared relaxed and engaged in conversation upon arrival.
However, events took a dramatic turn in the early hours of the morning.
At about 5:00 a.m., staff members were alerted by distress calls from the woman, identified as Mrs. Linda Mensah, who was reportedly shouting for help, claiming the pastor had become unresponsive.
Staff rushed to the room and found Rev. Appiah lying motionless on the bed. Attempts to revive him proved unsuccessful.
Police were subsequently called to the scene and conducted a preliminary examination.
Authorities say there were no immediate signs of foul play, but a postmortem examination has been scheduled to establish the exact cause of death.
The incident has sparked shock and mixed reactions within the community, particularly among members of the pastor’s congregation, given his public standing as a religious leader.
Police say investigations are ongoing and have assured the public that further details will be made available once the autopsy results are concluded.
