Ho Buzzing with Volta Fair 2025 As 24-Hour Economy Comes Alive

The Volta regional capital, is aglow with colour, commerce, and culture as the 2025 Volta Trade and Investment Fair continues to draw massive crowds to the Ho Sports Stadium.

The week-long exhibition has turned the regional capital into a bustling hub of round-the-clock economic activity, aligning with government’s 24-hour economy agenda.

The 7th edition of the fair, launched on Wednesday, November 26, is themed “Volta Rising: Building Global Partnerships for a Thriving 24-Hour Economy.”

It features an impressive display of Made-in-Ghana goods from agricultural produce to artisanal crafts — and has attracted a surge of investors, exhibitors, and patrons who are enjoying competitive prices and exciting discounts.

Exhibitors and visitors who spoke to The ARCHIVES expressed satisfaction with the organisation of the fair, which ends on Monday, December 8.

Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, who toured the exhibition grounds, described the event as a clear demonstration of the government’s 24-hour economy vision.

“This is what a 24-hour economy looks like in action. This is Volta Rising. If you haven’t passed through yet, you’re missing the magic happening right here at the Ho Sports Stadium. Join us day or night and experience the spirit, creativity, and unstoppable momentum of the Volta Region,” he said.

According to the Minister, the fair is fulfilling its objectives — stimulating local commerce, boosting tourism, creating jobs, attracting investors, and strengthening SMEs — all of which contribute significantly to Ghana’s broader economic transformation efforts.

Organisers, the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) in collaboration with the Volta Regional Coordinating Council, described the fair as a strategic investment platform positioned to enhance the region’s role as Ghana’s eastern gateway to West Africa.

Designed as a 13-day continuous commercial activity, the event also serves as a practical test run for the country’s push toward a fully functional 24-hour economy.
